N2 to PE

We all heart the Garden Route (N2 to PE)

Buy some biltong bites and meat from the farm at Hooikraal Butchery just before Heidelberg.

We hardly ever miss stopping at Baleia Family Owned Winery and deli restaurant just pass Riversdale. Order a cheese platter pairing in ad- vance if you are in a hurry. Other- wise spent quality time enjoying their limited 6-8 wines. Normally they have a jumping castle on the grass for the kids, a shop with great memoirs and a restaurant/deli. You pay for the tasting but taking an awesome glass home. Across the street from them are Bali Trading – shoppers paradise.

If you are a gin lover, turn into the road leading to Still Bay to visit In- veroche Gin tasting. If you crossed the pont from Malagas you can travel via gravel roads all the way till you reach Mossel Bay actually.

Jakkalsvlei outside Mosselbay (Herbertsdale) is also a family owned vineyard with a restau- rant. If you want to miss the N2, take a short detour from Coopers Kraal to Mossel Bay.

Baleia

We once had the opportunity to visit Botlierskop Game Farm outside Mossel Bay. If you can make a stay there it will be so worth your while. Their game (including rhinos) roam free so you are in experiencing an safari where you can keep the binoculars close not to miss an adventure. They also welcome day visitors and have lovely pools and a spa.

Book a 3-hour power van trip up the Outeniqua mountains at the Transnet Transport Museum in George. You are welcome to pack a picnic as there are no option for a tuck-shop.

Just pass George you will get a sign “Victoria Bay”. This is surfer’s paradise where we came as often possible. Just have enjoy an ice cream and walk down the peer.

Enroute to Port Elizabeth or the Addo Elephant Park you will pass a canopy touer, elephant park, wolf sanctuary and a bird paradise. If you love living on the edge, stop to jump of the Stormsriver Bridge at Bloukrans. Definately not for the faint hearted!
