Malagas: Breede River town with a rich history
This historical town is a 35km drive from Die Blouhuis. And be on the look out not to miss it! Things to do and photograph:
Pont: man powered way to cross the 100m Breede River. It is free of charge. If you cross the pont it is ac- tually a short cut going to or coming from the Garden Route (the gravel road connects to the N2 close to Hei- delberg). The pont only operates from sunrise to sunset so plan your trip.
NG klipkerk: historical old build- ing where there is still a church ser- vice once a month and on Christmas.
Breede River Trading Post and Grunters Restaurant: good stop for refreshments, basic groceries, fresh baked bread/buns or try their burgers!
Boathouse Pizzary: On the edge of the Breede River. Check if they are open.
Sijnn Winery: Wine tasting & cheese platters. Phone in advance to check that they are open.
Breede River Bush Pub: Awesome for chilling on the water’s edge. Very informal, great vibe and views. Their cocktails price around R50 and they also serve burgers in season. Check if they are open.
