There are plenty of pitstops and res- taurants on your way to Swellen- dam, mostly situated around Grabouw, Elgin and Botrivier.
There is a lovely circle mean- der you can drive passing Old Mac Daddy’s, Fox champagne farm and other wineries.
The Elgin Railway Market of- fers different stalls where you can buy a variety of food, wine, craft beers and treats and sit down as a family and enjoy all the different tastes.
Peregrine farmstall offers a quick stop or lounge options. Apart from the restaurant there is a bakery, deli, coffee and food trucks, a mobile bookstore and grass and a play area for kids to get rid of their energy. We al- ways stop at the bakery to buy frehsly
baked mosbolletjies (rusk that has not been dried out, almost like supersoft bread with aniseed). They also stock a variety of brochures should you still need info to fill your trip.
Gabrielskloof olive farm and winery offers tastings and has a res- taurant with a beautiful setting. We highly recommend their eggs bene-
dict and platters. Their other food is also good.
If you love shopping at a farm- stall, stop at the overstocked Dassies- fontein. You will definitely find some- thing here to take home.
Caledon has big shops for groceries and a pharmacy right next to the N2 if you need anything.
